Building Power with Farmworkers and Rural, Low-Income Communities Throughout Florida
FWAF at We Are Florida Campaign
As a part of the We Are Florida Campaign, on Tuesday, February 15th, a team from our Apopka Office traveled to Tallahassee to advocate against the heat restriction bill and promote the Welcoming Florida Act.
FWAF at Food Chain Workers Alliance Summit
A shout out to the great Summit by the Food Chain Workers Alliance and FWAF Staff's participation in the Summit - Maria Carmona, Maria Martinez, Yesica Ramirez, Neza Xiuhtecutli, and FWAF Board member, Benita Lozano for bringing our farmworker community members' issues, realities and struggles to the Summit in California! FWAF staff gave a presentation on our years long research study with Emory University, and joined FCWA members in actions in support of workers around the country. Great solidarity and strategic planning event with food chain workers across the country! We are so proud of you all and so grateful for everyone's great work for social, economic, environmental, worker, and climate justice! Sí, Se Puede! Adelante!
